Empower Young Footballers in Oyo State
The Oke Ogun Coaches Association in Oyo State is currently raising funds to support talented young football players in the region. They want to help them achieve their dreams of becoming world-class football players. This is why the association has decided to hold an empowerment press conference on Monday, September 17th, in Kajola local government area of the state. The press conference is scheduled to start at 11am.
Oyo State football federation
The Oyo State Football Federation has banned its officials over alleged bribery and misconduct. The ban is a result of an investigation by the Emergency Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation. Barrister Olaleye Adepoju has also been banned from all football related activities for a period of 10 years.
The commissioner for youths and sports in the state has said the state is keen on selecting a female football team. He also said the state is committed to finding young football talents. This year’s tournament had 16 football teams, including one for women.
Saki United
The Saki United of Oyo State football team is begging for financial support after their 2-0 defeat against Sokoto Professionals. The team is representing Oyo State in the AITEO Cup. The commissioner of Youths and Sports in the state, Seun Fakorede, congratulated the team after the result. However, they are struggling financially as they had to cancel a match against Katsina United in Sokoto State.
Saki United of Oyo State has reached the final of the 2022 Oyo State AITEO Cup. They had to defeat the favourites 3SC FC on penalties to win the trophy. However, they ended up achieving their objective and were crowned champions of the state. They will now represent the state in the national AITEO cup.
Housing Corporation
The Housing Corporation Football Club has reached the Oyo State FA Cup final. They beat Oyo A in a penalty shoot-out, winning 3-2. The team is led by Barrister Bayo Lawal, the Executive Chairman of the organization, who has been a gubernatorial candidate in 2023.
The team is also set to play a game against Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan on Friday, January 26, at the newly refurbished Lekan Salami Sports Complex. The match will kick off at 4pm. The Oyo State Housing Corporation Chairman commended the team for its remarkable performance against Ogbomoso and said the organization would do everything to get it back to its former position.
Oluyole Warriors
The Shooting Stars, formerly Oluyole Warriors, are now NPFL champions, after beating the Lagos Elephants. The victory has restored the glory of the Oyo State football team. The new governor of Oyo State has promised to promote the team to the top-flight in two years. The state government has not committed sufficient resources to the development of the sport in the state.
The Ibadan Warriors are the oldest club in Nigeria. They joined the Nigerian Premier League in 1972 and play their home games at the Lekan Salami Stadium. The club is managed by the state government of Oyo and Dimeji Lawal is acting general manager.

The competition is made up of six rounds of group games and the champion is crowned at the end of the season.

The LMC supervises the compliance of the laws of the competition and imposes penalties for defaulters. This ensures that the competition is credible and true champions emerge after 38 matches.
Tripple 44 Football Academy
The Tripple 44 Football Academy is a leading Nigerian football academy. It focuses on developing football skills and also stresses the need for education. As such, it offers a range of study and training programmes for players to gain internationally recognised qualifications. The academy has already produced players that have been picked for the u-17 World Cup in 2019. In addition, the academy has a partnership with UK-based Diamond Football Management.
The academy aims to attract talented youths from across Nigeria aged seventeen and twenty-three. It conducts open trials to select the best players and send them for an International Football Trial Tour.
