Op-reha Guide
The Op-reha Guide is a multidisciplinary intervention guide for rehabilitation therapists who work with terminal cancer patients in a patient-centered medical unit (PCU). The Op-reha Guide was developed after consultation with rehabilitation therapists, a nurse, a clinical psychologist, and three palliative care physicians. The guide contains 22 recommended actions to implement in rehabilitation sessions.
The Guide contains the equivalents of Huan Zhe ha and Shun Ci ri. It also includes the equivalents of Er Ci De na, Nian 7 and Mo Duan Yan Huan Zhe. These forms are taught in a step-by-step format. Once you have mastered the basics, you can progress to more advanced forms.
Robot-assisted gait therapy
One of the major limitations of robot-assisted gait therapy is that it is not fully autonomous. The therapist must adjust the robot’s assistance to the patient’s individual needs. In many cases, the therapist must rely on the visual assessment of the patient to make decisions regarding the training parameters. These subjective decisions may affect the results of the training. While there are guidelines for the level of assistance that a robotic gait trainer should offer, the guidelines are often not specific enough and the therapist must make their own decisions.
Robot-assisted gait therapy has the potential to improve locomotor function in stroke survivors. In one study, a 62-year-old man suffering from temporal lobe ischemic stroke was treated with a robotic gait trainer. His baseline Fugl-Meyer score was 10 on a scale of 34, which reflected a severe impairment of the paretic leg. However, the patient demonstrated good ambulation with a stick cane.
The therapeutic effects of RAGT vary greatly. Among other things, the amount of assistance and the duration of the training vary between different users. Inexperienced users may be more comfortable with lower assistance, while seasoned ones may feel more comfortable with higher assistance. Moreover, manual-tuning of controllers may be time-consuming and limit the therapist’s ability to tailor the therapy to each individual patient’s needs.
Algorithm Changes
In addition to comparing the amount of robotic assistance, researchers also evaluated the time it takes for each subtask to stabilize. In some cases, the AT algorithm changes its assistance level by 10% every three steps, but the user may not achieve a stable level of support. Stability was defined as no more than 10% change in assistance. These differences were assessed using a Wilcoxon signed rank test, with p-values less than 0.05 considered statistically significant.
Robotic-assisted gait therapy (RAGT) has the potential to help post-stroke patients achieve a more functional gait. However, there are still many unanswered questions. Further research is needed to determine if the treatment is effective and safe.
