Its excellence strategy has resulted in the establishment of four clusters of excellence, including two graduate schools, one of which is a research hub. The university is also developing a future concept based on its current strengths: LMUexcellent.
The Excellence Strategy, which was previously called the Excellence Initiative, aims to promote world-class research at German universities. The funding will be split among the universities in each cluster, ranging from EUR10 million to EUR28 million per year.
