Nova Farms Opens New Store in New York
A cannabis cultivator based in Massachusetts, Nova Farms, has recently opened a retail store in New York. As a cannabis consumer, you’ve probably already seen their product in stores throughout the city. Nevertheless, are its products being fairly compensated? Read on to learn more about this cannabis company. This company is committed to making cannabis a widely available product and is working to make sure that people can get access to it wherever they may be.
Nova Farms is a cannabis cultivator
A Massachusetts town is allowing recreational marijuana sales and has approved a second host community agreement with a cannabis cultivator. However, selectmen turned down a request to extend the agreement for a retail marijuana operation. The Royal Group, a certified womanowned business, said delays in receiving permits from the Cannabis Control Commission drove them out of business. The company eventually sold its assets to Nova Farms, the state’s fourthlargest marijuana cultivator.
The company is growing cannabis in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and it is planning to expand to the town of Thorndike by the summer of 2021. The company will grow cannabis on a 90-acre farm in the community. It plans to have three to four harvests per year. Residents of the town voted in July to overturn a six-month moratorium on new marijuana businesses. Nova Farms’ plans include adding more than a million bees to the Thorndike farm. The bees will remain in place while the marijuana grows.
The town of Woolwich Township Committee unanimously supported the project. The company plans to cultivate three acres of cannabis in the center of the property, using a bog on the site to reduce odor. Since the start of operations in 2019, the town has received zero complaints about odor. The company plans to build processing facilities in Woolwich, and the Woolwich Township Police Department observed the oath of office given to Patrolman Edward Donahue by the company’s CEO, Mark Kotsavsky.
Attleboro: Although cannabis cultivation is legal in Massachusetts, regulators suspended the licenses of Nova Farms after Rioux was charged with marijuana trafficking. The company has since received five new cultivation, processing and retail licenses. Nova Farms, with its six licensed locations in the state, can now continue cultivating its Sheffield crop. If the company regains its licenses, it will be allowed to sell marijuana to Massachusetts residents.
Its product is sold in a variety of locations
Despite their brand name, Nova Farms sells their products in a variety of locations. The company started in Massachusetts with a new store in Attleboro. Although the store had some initial problems, the new space eventually attracted a large number of customers and a local DJ. Though they often had to conduct business outside because of the weather, the business did well and grossed $20 million its first year. The company is also committed to hiring local people and participating in a “social equity” program where 45 percent of employees could be minorities.
In the Northeast, Nova Farms has two retail locations and an outdoor grow in Sheffield, Massachusetts. The company also has land in Framingham and Thorndike, Maine, and wants to expand its footprint northward to Connecticut. Retail locations will be in Framingham and Attleboro. The company is also looking to expand into New Jersey. Nova Farms is now the largest marijuana cultivation company in the area. Nova Farms is selling its products to consumers in more than 20 states, and is sold in many retail locations.
In Massachusetts, marijuana is a billion dollar industry, and in New York, the market is estimated to be even larger. With sales in both states expected to surpass $9 billion annually, Nova Farms is eager to gain a foothold in the market. The company is growing most of its product outdoors, which will allow it to reduce its carbon footprint. Currently, Nova Farms’ product is sold in multiple locations, including dozens of dispensaries that aren’t owned by the company.
It has a new store
After a decade of success, the iconic ice cream brand Nova Farms is expanding its reach into a new location. On January 6th, the brand will open a new store in Pittsfield. The store will feature free ice cream and a glass-blowing demonstration. Legendary rapper RedMan will also be in town from 1pm to 3pm. Food trucks will also be in town to offer a taste of the Nova Farms line of products.
Nova Farms is considering expanding into Thorndike in time for the 2021 growing season. The Waldo County town voted last month to reject a six-month moratorium on new marijuana businesses. However, Nova Farms is still finalizing plans to start growing marijuana in the community in August. Nova Farms has already purchased land in Thorndike, Maine, and Framingham, Massachusetts. The company plans to build a growing facility in Connecticut as well.
In addition to Attleboro and Framingham, Nova Farms is opening a new retail location in Framingham. The company is a vertically integrated cannabis producer and has two stores in the state. It is also planning to open a store in New York. The company has locations in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Framingham, and expects the new Framingham location to be open by July 16. The new store will offer a variety of cannabis products for sale.
While the company is moving forward with its plans to open a retail marijuana store in Framingham, the company hit a speed bump last fall. In October, owner Mark Rioux was arrested and charged with marijuana trafficking. He was cleared of the charges within a month, despite the fact that the state investigation into the case was still ongoing. If the case is closed, Nova Farms will be allowed to continue operations and keep the plants.
