Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators, or DMBA, is a Salt Lake City-based company that administers benefit plans for Church employees. DMBA provides the insurance coverages and benefits the Church requires for its employees, as well as the expertise necessary to administer the benefits. Before the 1970s, the Church contracted with three different companies to handle employee benefit plans. However, Church leaders decided that it would be more economical for the Church to insure its own employees. In response, the Church formed the Deseret Mutual Benefit Association, which later changed its name to Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators.
